Community Guidelines

Jove is a people-first community built around getting outside together. These guidelines exist to keep that community welcoming, respectful, and safe, whether you’re posting, messaging, hosting, or showing up to an event. By using Jove, you agree to follow them.

Our Expectations

• Be respectful. Treat other members the way you’d want to be treated, online and in person.

• Be honest. Represent yourself, your events, and your experience accurately.

• Be safe. Prioritize your own safety and the safety of others at every event.

• Show up. RSVP and cancellation etiquette matters — hosts and fellow attendees are counting on you.

Not Allowed on Jove

• Hateful or discriminatory behavior. Content or conduct that attacks, demeans, or excludes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic.

• Harassment and bullying. Threats, intimidation, unwanted repeated contact, or targeted abuse of any user.

• Explicit or graphic content. Nudity, sexual content, or graphic violence has no place on Jove.

• Hate speech, symbols, or extremist content. This includes glorifying or promoting violent extremist organizations or ideologies.

• Illegal activity. Content or behavior that promotes or facilitates illegal acts, including the sale of illegal goods or substances.

• Impersonation and misinformation. Pretending to be another person, brand, or entity, or knowingly posting false or misleading information about an event, business, or person.

• Spam and scams. Unsolicited promotional content, fraudulent listings, phishing attempts, or manipulating the platform (fake accounts, fake RSVPs, review manipulation).

• Unsafe event conduct. Hosting or attending events in a way that knowingly endangers participants, including disregard for stated safety requirements, skill-level expectations, or applicable permits and regulations.

Hosting on Jove

• Hosts set the tone for their events. As a host, you’re expected to:

• Accurately describe your event, including skill level, gear needs, and any risks involved

• Communicate promptly and professionally with attendees

• Follow through on events you create, and give timely notice if you need to cancel

• Comply with any local laws, permits, or safety requirements for your activity
